Clara's latest obsession: roly-polies. Or pill bugs, sow bugs (she calls them "sour bugs"), what have you. I looked them up and apparently the Latin name is Armadillidium vulgare, which I love--armadillo bugs! Like many of us, Clara's attitude toward bugs and similar critters wavers between fascination and repulsion, but she was taken enough by these guys we found under a flowerpot to put them in a jar, tote them to preschool for show-and-tell, and call them her "pets."
